We are happy to announce a collaborative workshop with our colleagues Dr. Gohar Shahnazaryan and Siran Hovhannisyan from the Center for Gender and Leadership Studies at Yerevan State University, Armenia. In the frame of the project “Gender Sensitive Research and Teaching,” they will discuss with us their activities for the advancement of gender equality and leadership in academy, as well as the challenges they face in the Armenian context. Based on their experiences, we will reflect on the situation in Switzerland and discuss what we can learn from each other.

The workshop addresses students, researchers and teachers who are interested in thinking through current gender issues both nationally and internationally. Topics that will be discussed include but are not limited to:

• The legitimation of gender issues in Armenia and Switzerland
• The compatibility of family, academic studies and career
• Ongoing problems of sexual harassment
• Academic leadership structures and canonized hierarchies
• What can be done?
