The Meaning of ‹1989› Thirty Years Later

Journée
Ouvert au grand public
18.10.2019 09:30 - 17:30
Présentiel

The annus mirabilis of 1989 is being commemorated in many locations this year. It was a truly historical period, an upheaval which obtained its own transformative dynamic along with the negotiations at the Round Table in Poland and Hungary, enabling a path to the fall of the Berlin Wall. 15 years later, Central European countries and the Baltic States joined the European Union and sealed their “return to Europe”. The conference brings together experts from Central and Eastern Europe, who will discuss the political, economic and cultural developments of the last three decades in the region.
