The classical density functional theory (DFT) is a formally exact method to calculate the equilibrium properties of inhomogeneous fluids. Its approximate generalization to nonequilibrium, the dynamical density functional theory (DDFT), addresses the dynamics of soft matter. This conference is focused on presenting new and powerful approaches to (D)DFT by explicitly treating the statics and dynamics of the inhomogeneous two-body correlation functions.
