To stimulate and promote statistics, the Swiss Statistical Society (SSS) has recently floated the idea of a "Pitch your Research" event. The aim should be to popularise academics activities in the area of statistics and their applications in data science.

FRI-SAM (Fribourg, Statistics and Applied Mathematics), a collaborative institution between the University and the School of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg, will organise according to the above-mentioned event a workshop in statistics at the University of Fribourg next beginning October.

This year, the workshop intends mainly to introduce the participants to fuzzy statistics with a small lecture and a demo in R. Moreover, the participants will have the possibility to display posters or present demos of software related to their researches as well.
