In an alternate post-war Japan, three teenagers become obsessed with a mysterious tower that soars high into the sky. They build a makeshift aircraft and promise to fly to the tower together one day, but one of them disappears before its completion. A few years later, the tower is suddenly activating and triggers a phenomenon that threatens the world. And the friend who vanished without a trace may hold the key to everything...

Kagerota, a rogue ninja, is a wanted man as his clansman believes that he knows the whereabouts of scrolls containing the art of shapeshifting. Kagerota is taking “Father,” an overweight cat, in his bag, whom he believes to be the feline form of his long-disappeared and legendary ninja father Kuze Kenzan. Will he manage to turn “Father” back to his human appearance and escape his pursuers?
