On 3 November 2021 from 11:00 to 12:00, doctoral researcher Julia Cunha (iimt, UNIFR) will explain how she intends to create a toolbox that may be applied to foster and develop social innovation. Zoom link on demand: info(at)smartlivinglab.ch.

Climate crisis, economic inequality, gender disparity, racial injustice, or the devastating effects left by the COVID-19 pandemic are some of the current dilemmas disrupting the lives of people around the world. As old formulas fail to meet those needs, innovation becomes essential. The field of social innovation has been attracting the interest of scholars and policymakers over the past few years presenting great chances of successfully meeting these demands.

The topic, however, remains understudied and fragmented imposing setbacks for researchers and practitioners. By conducting a systematic review of the literature on social innovation and commercial innovation, this research intends to create a toolbox with frameworks and tools that may be applied to foster and develop social innovation. Subsequent application of the main methods in a case study will give further evidence of the advantages and challenges of applying the conceptual methods in practice.
