DESCRIPTION:Summary: Pollinators are essential for biodiversity, ecosystem resilience, and global food security, yet managed and wild pollinators are increasingly threatened by environmental change. Within this professorship, our research embraces an integrative approach to uncover the mechanisms driving pollinator decline, linking gamete quality and individual fitness to population persistence. By integrating ecology, evolution, physiology, ecotoxicology, epidemiology, and molecular biology, we investigate how interacting biotic and abiotic stressors shape health and susceptibility across diverse pollinator systems. Integrative teaching in animal ecology, evolution, and behavior will equip students to address emerging global challenges. Using a comparative and One Health perspective, our work aims to develop a predictive framework for pollinator persistence in a rapidly changing world.
