DESCRIPTION:Quantum emitters, like for instance fluorophores, can be coupled to metallic Nanoparticles, also referred to as Nanoantennas. This coupling not only enhances light collection for the excitation but also opens up new decay routes for the fluorophore. These new decay routes allow for faster decay but also alter the spectral shape of the emission. Goal of this Project was to add a Spectrograph with a CCD Camera onto an existing confocal microscope setup enabling it to make single-molecule spectral measurements, which is needed in order to observe the spectra of quantum emitters like fluorophores. Using this spectrograph we then measured and analyzed the changes in spectrum of an ATTO594 fluorophore in the vicinity of a Gold Nanorod.
