What does increasing globalization mean for the legislative prerogative of states? What challenges do different actors face in a system of multi-level governance? How are local communities affected by changes in international law? How can often contentious relationships between domestic law and international law be dealt with? Do we have to develop new paradigms to understand the global-local relationship? How does international law develop under resistance?

These and other questions will be dealt with in the upcoming Sino-Swiss Workshop jointly organized by the China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing, and the Institute of Federalism, University of Fribourg.
